Correcting Our Errors Because we see through a glass darkly, we do not claim to know all there is about God's word. Therefore, we urge you to be a Berean and search the Scriptures yourself. But we will correct errors that we see. Thank you for your patience. | |

May 2007 Update from the 2005 Letters:
I have checked back with Vicky Dillen's site and found that she claims that she is not a member of the Ruckmanite cult and that she never even heard of Peter Ruckman. Despite this fact, I still cannot recommend her as a reliable source because she does misrepresent many solidly Biblical ministries and obviously misunderstands what these reputable ministries say. Not to mention, the alleged "date setting" information she "drug up" on Pastor Chuck is over 26 years old. Where's the grace? The rest of the stuff is all her misinterpretations of things. January 2008 Correction from the 2005 Letters:
Because of my newness in the faith at the time I wrote these letters, I was still unlearning many unbiblical things I had been taught. However, I need to correct something that I said that isn't Biblical: In our quest for rightness, human beings tend to place the label of "false prophet" or "false teacher" on any leader who may have been wrong in one area. I believe that labeling every person that makes a mistake, a false prophet, is a mistake in itself. The Lord showed me that I still believed the "excuses" that Benny Hinn and all the other false prophets on TBN make up when they predict something and it doesn't come to pass. I was misapplying grace to allow for human error. But grace never compromises. If a prophecy is truly of God it would come to pass, therefore, we cannot carelessly predict things unless we KNOW God has said it. The word says that if it doesn't come to pass, then the "prophet" has spoken presumptuously. The word also says, that we do not have to fear anyone predicting false things. However, since it was unclear of the absolute certainty of an end-time prediction by Chuck Smith, Sr., I still cannot throw out his wisdom over one possible instance. He no longer sells those controversial books (that I know of), and he does not specifically predict when the return of Christ will happen. Therefore, he should be forgiven and have any sins (if he indeed committed any in this situation) forgotten. God has forgotten our sins, because it pleases Him to throw our sins into the sea of forgetfulness. We should not be like the unforgiving servant, who was forgiven of a debt he could not possibly pay, but didn't forgive his fellow servant of a tiny payable debt. |
