Proponents of "accidental history," or historical events that happen by accident that rulers cannot control or prevent, have tried to debunk their conspiratorial opponents. Conspiracy theorists generally believe that historical events happen by design for reasons not revealed to the public. But since government officials are only human, things can take them by surprise, too. The attack on Pearl Harbor more than likely was one of those surprises. As for 9-11, I'm not sure because the government was warned about the threats of Al'Qada beforehand, but didn't take them seriously. But the Oklahoma City bombing had evidence clearly come out in the press, that the government offices in that building were warned not to come into the office, implicating that the FBI knew something bad was going to happen and it appeared they did nothing to prevent nor investigate it.

Many people have heard of secret societies and their connection to the politicians, and other high ranking officials. Since the office of the Presidency of the United States began, each President has been a member of a secret society. President George W. Bush is a member of the Skull and Crossbones society. So, what is the big deal? Why have conspiracy theorists and other groups placed such emphasis on these facts? Why do they still try to alarm the public to these associations, even though it appears to fall on deaf ears? On the other hand, why have these politicians and the media spent so much time and effort making these "trumpeters of conspiracy" look insane? Or worse, why have some, who have found out the secrets of these alleged "harmless" societies, been found dead, or been threatened? What do they really have to hide? If they are so harmless, why all the secrecy?

Purposes and Plans of Secret Societies

The Secret societies have similar goals and purposes as Communism. Their goals are to take possession of the government, end the rights of private property ownership, and abolish all religion. All the "inalienable" rights given to us by our Creator and our Constitution will be stripped from us if these people continue messing with our government. The Patriot Act is proof of that. Granted most of the proposals were needed for a time, but now the CIA and FBI have started becoming like the KGB. Listening in on law-abiding Americans' telephone conversations, declaring people enemy combatants without proof. So, yes, there is some cause for concern here in America. But, remember, other countries have been subjected to this tyranny for centuries, so why are Americans supposed to be exempt from it?

But, the American public has not been permitted to see what goes on in the highest rituals of these societies to determine if they want to support or be a part of them. They are denied access to anything the society deems as secret. I have to ask, "Why?" What is so important about a simple ritual or oath, that they have to hide the truth about it? Are they that evil? In this writer's opinion, the creeds, practices, and rituals of any organization should be placed on public record, not only to dismiss suspicion, but allow anyone, who wishes to join, to make an informed decision. They should be required to publish all of their doctrines and oaths. I see no need for secrecy in a private organization that enlists members of the public to join their "club." In my opinion, they are no better than the cults who deceive their followers by not revealing what they truly believe to unsuspecting converts.

If a husband kept secrets from his wife, and the wife knew he was "hiding something," that marriage would be disastrous. There would be fear, anxiety, mistrust, and it would eventually end in divorce. The "marriage" between secret societies and politics have bred such anxieties among concerned citizens, who happen to find out just a few things. But these concerned citizens have been labeled as paranoid or "mentally unstable." But are they really the ones who are "unstable?" To me, power-hungry, greed driven, controlling "elitists" are the ones who are mentally imbalanced. They are the wealthiest of the world, and have a sense of entitlement, because they are delusioned into thinking they are the only ones who deserve any rights. But yet they don't want to contribute their fair share of taxes which support our troops, police, and fire fighters. So, who is more delusional, the truly concerned citizens, or those who think the power all belongs to them? Could it be that these concerned citizens have hit very close to the truth? Why else would these societies need to "cover their tracks" so well? What are they hiding?

Some may say that they have the right to privacy. But privacy only applies to situations like individual's personal lives (confidentiality between friends, doctors/patients, etc.), in the case of national security, or if a company is developing a product they don't want their competition to discover. Secrecy is deceitful and, more often than not, unlawful (either by God's laws or man's laws). The Scripture says, "I SPOKE OPENLY TO THE WORLD, AND IN SECRET HAVE I SAID NOTHING." (John 18:20) and "...I HAVE NOT SPOKEN IN SECRET FROM THE BEGINNING;..."(Isaiah 48:16). So, God has no secrets, why are we more privileged than Him? Secrecy causes fear and, in some cases, intimidation. But these organizations deceive the public, attempting to ease the fear, by making themselves look so "good" and charitable. The Mafia tried that, but it didn't work.

Al Capone, the mobster, opened soup kitchens for the poor during the Great Depression. To the poor he was a "savior," and through that deception, he was able to recruit them for his organization. On one hand, he was saving people from starving, but killing others if they opposed him. The duality (or hypocrisy) didn't make him any better than a dictator. The underlying motivation of all Al Capone's endeavors, good or bad, was POWER. Anyone who knows anything about the mob, knows once you're in, you can never get out alive -- they had ultimate control of a person's life. Power is the motivation that nearly all politicians and those in these secret societies, have for being involved in the government. They want total control of the money, the resources, the land, and the people.

I don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but "the earth is the LORD'S and the fullness thereof" (Psalm 24:1). God "owns the cattle on a thousand hills" (Psalm 50:10). That means God owns the earth and everything on it and in it. We're just borrowing this place and its resources. He's also Creator, Lord, and Master of all, so the power belongs to Him, as well. Satan tried to take that power but God hurled him out of heaven at "warp speed" (i.e. "like lightning" Luke 10:18). (Also read, Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:12-17) If the devil, being the archangel of worship to God, couldn't conquer God, what makes man, who is made "lower" than the angels, think he can? The same sin of Satan, a prideful heart and deluded mind. Mankind's arrogance is vain and exalts itself against the knowledge God" (2 Cor. 10:5). But God wins, mankind and the kingdom of Satan don't. (Read the book of Revelation in case you have any doubts.)

The Bad and the Ugly -- Reason for Concern

I will begin this with an organization that has been active and very involved in politics for a couple hundred years or more. They are the Masons or Freemasons. Despite the numerous warnings and books written about the Masons, people still join their organization and support it. They do so because they see all the "good" charitable work that the Masons do, and either are deceived, or just look the other way. In 1869 Reverend Charles G. Finney wrote a book called, THE CHARACTER, CLAIMS AND PRACTICAL WORKINGS OF FREEMASONRY, exposing the truth about the Masons. He, being a former Masonic member, had first hand knowledge of some of their practices and creeds. He stated his reasons for leaving the order, "On reflection and examination I found that I had been grossly deceived and imposed upon. I had been led to suppose that there were some very important secrets to be communicated to me. But in this respect I found myself entirely disappointed. Indeed, I came to the deliberate conclusion, and could not avoid doing so, that my oaths had been procured by fraud and misrepresentation, and that the institution was in no respect what I had been previously informed that it was."

Being a former attorney, Reverend Finney dealt with facts, not hearsay, so he recounted the brutal murder of another fellow Mason, William Morgan, who "broke the Masonic code of secrecy." Finney writes, "By their [the Mason's] oaths they were bound to seek his [Morgan's] destruction, and to execute upon him the penalty of those oaths." They kidnapped Morgan, held him hostage at Fort Niagara, and drowned him in the Niagara River by sinking him in the river with weights. Finney also writes that, "Two or three have since, upon their death-bed, confessed their part in the transaction." Henry L. Valance's account of his participation in the murder was taken down by Dr. John L. Emery, of Racine County, Wisconsin, in the summer of 1848, and presented to the public in 1849 in the form of a pamphlet called, "Confession of the Murder of William Morgan." It was later republished in the book "Sterns on Masonry" by Elder Sterns, a Baptist elder.

Finney explained how deeply the Masons were involved in government and the dangers it would impose. Finney wrote, "He [Morgan] regarded it as highly injurious to the cause of Christ, and as eminently dangerous to the government of our country, and I suppose was aware, as Masons generally were at that time, that nearly all the civil offices in the country were in the hands of Freemasons; and that the press was completely under their control, and almost altogether in their hands. Masons at that time boasted that all the civil offices in the country were in their hands. I believe that all the civil offices in the county where I resided while I belonged to them, were in their hands. I do not recollect a magistrate, or a constable, or sheriff in that county that was not at that time a Freemason."

In trying to find justice for Morgan's murder Finney discloses, "The courts of justice found themselves entirely unable to make any headway against the wide-spread conspiracy that was formed among Masons in respect to this matter.... These are matters of record. It was found that they could do nothing with the courts, with the sheriffs, with the witnesses, or with the jurors; and all their efforts were for a time entirely impotent. Indeed, they never were able to prove the murder of Morgan, and bring it home to the individuals who perpetrated it." Masons had such dominance and control that the murderers were never brought to justice. It's this author's opinion that they used fear and the intimidation of their secret "brotherhood" to bully these people or maybe even bribe them.

In an attempt to cover up their deceit, the Masons took Morgan's book and rewrote it to favor Masonry. Finney stated, "The greatest pains were taken by Masons to cover up the transaction, and as far as possible to deceive the public in regard to the fact that Mr. Morgan had published Masonry as it really is.... Masons themselves, as is affirmed by the very best authority, published two spurious editions of Morgan's book, and circulated them as the true edition which Morgan had published. These editions were designed to deceive Masons who had never seen Morgan's edition, and thus to enable them to say that it was not a true revelation of Masonry." Masons still use lying to this day to recruit new members.

Finney later writes about the strong power and influence that the Masons exercised over the press and even the postal services. Finney reveals, "In the Northern or non-slaveholding States Masonry was almost universally renounced at that time. But it was found that it had taken so deep a root that in all New England there was scarcely a newspaper in which the death of William Morgan, and the circumstances connected therewith, could be published. This was so generally true throughout all the North that newspapers had to be everywhere established for the purpose of making the disclosures that were necessary in regard to its true character and tendency. The same game is being played over again at the present day. The 'Cynosure,' the new anti-masonic paper published at Chicago, is constantly intercepted on its way to subscribers....The editor informs me that the numbers are constantly intercepted. The public will be forced to learn what a lawless and hideous institution Freemasonry is. "

For a time the Masons went underground, because they had been discovered and felt ashamed of their hideous deeds. But Finney states they re-emerged into politics, "It was found that Masonry so completely baffled the courts of law, and obstructed the course of justice, that it was forced into politics;" Masons have also been called the "Illuminati," which many of the concerned citizens have believed is in control of our government. The Mason's goal is to gain political power, thus taking full control of the government and bringing in a one world order. So, who are these people? They are the wealthy WHITE MALE elite. They are leaders of insurance companies, banks, corporations, credit card companies, and Wall Street to name a few. They hold America and possibly the world by the financial "heart," and if revealed for what they really are, they can cause financial ruin to average Americans. That's why I have to ask 'Why is George W. Bush has pushing so hard to privatize so many government programs and branches? ? I believe he may personally profit from it, and may be doing what the Illuminati is wanting him to do. If the Masons have the power that some claim, then the office of the President is just the office for a puppet.

The Masons discriminate against blacks and women, as well as other minority groups. Women are only allowed to be involved in the Daughters of Job, which is under the umbrella of the Masons. Black or minority males may join, but are not permitted past a certain level. These organizations are racist and sexist, thus they are violating Constitutional laws. But if they are truly that powerful, who can fight them? They know this and use that power to intimidate us into fear and submission. But they need to beware of over-confidence and oppressing those they deem lessor, because God is the defender of the poor and resists the proud. God will bring them down.

Religion of Masonry

Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon cult, established this religion upon Masonic rituals and doctrines. His alleged "Gold Tablets" are a rip off of the Masonic Gold Plate story. Finney exposes this, "Another alleged historic fact is given in Richardson's 'Monitor of Freemasonry,' p. 155--the Gold Plate story. 'In the ceremonies connected with the degree of 'Grand Elect, Perfect, and Sublime Mason,' the Master says: 'I will now give you the true pronunciation of the name of the Deity as revealed to Enoch; and he engraved the letters composing it on a triangular plate of gold, which was hidden for many ages in the bowels of the earth, and lost to mankind.'...Here we have a most ridiculous piece of imposture, more than parallel with the gold plate imposture of Mormonism."

Joseph Smith was greatly influenced by the Masonic creeds and myths. He was between 14 and 17 years old when he allegedly saw the angel, Maroni, and the gold tablets. Children make up stories to get attention or approval, even back then. Remember the children of the Salem witch trials? Also, the devil can come as "an angel of light" (2 Cor. 11:13-15). So, because of his disillusionment toward the churches of that day, Smith rebelled. He and his father were both alcoholics, and I'm not sure about his father, but Joseph Smith was a Mason. Because of his strong Masonic ties, and the power he knew the Masons had, he decided that he wanted power. He created a religion based upon his ideas, and beliefs, instead of conforming his beliefs to the Scriptures. He abused that power by attacking innocent people to take their land and possessions, raping women (in the name of God), taking over government offices in Nauvoo, and burning down a legitimate newspaper (The Nauvoo Expositor). He was arrested for treason as a result of burning down the newspaper. Yet, the history of his life is continuously changed by the Mormon church, to deceive those they try to recruit. (Just as the Masons tried to change Morgan's story.) Joseph Smith not only plagiarized the Masons, but other philosphers, and the Bible to create his Book of Mormon. He claimed to be able to read "modified Egyptian hieroglyphics," which there is no such writing in existence, nor has there ever been.

I don't doubt the sincerity of the individual Mormon members, however they also have "secret" rituals and doctrines that they don't think an intelligent, educated human being "would understand." Actually, I believe they are afraid that we would understand, and be able to see their "faith" for what it is -- a lie. However, they put on a facade of doing such great charitable work. That draws in those who have been disillusioned by some faiths or the world in general. Just as the Masons don't tell you everything, the Mormon church doesn't tell you everything until they strip away your old belief system and replace it with theirs.

"Christian" Secret Societies?

TIME Magazine ran an article on the top 25 influential evangelicals (Feb. 7, 2005). They revealed that there is now a "Christian" secret society called, Fellowship Foundation. That is a grievous blow to all the principals that God has set up. As I stated before, God has no secrets. The "secrecy factor" should have no place in the church (unless the government is hunting us down to kill us, like will happen in the last days). Our doctrines, creeds, and rituals should be openly shared with the public, since we invite the public to share in them. Any secret society that wears the label of 'Christian' should be avoided, or at least questioned. More than likely, their members comprise of the elitist wealthy tele-evangelists who extort money from the body of Christ to build their own kingdoms so they can gain POWER to control the church. (Read my article "Christian Extortionists.")

This "Christian" secret society is in bed with the ungodly. Psalm 1:1 says, "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;" Fellowship Foundation is using the guise of fighting for Christian morality in government, but they're walking in the counsel of the ungodly, standing in the path of sinners, and sitting in the seat of the scornful. They are mimicking the world. We are to be in the world not of the world. They're leader, Douglas Coe, preaches only to dictators and other world leaders. So, I guess the poor guy who carries Mr. Coe's bags to his hotel room isn't worth Mr. Coe's time? Paul never needed a secret society to preach to leaders of countries. Jesus never needed to be a member of an elitist group to preach to the leaders of Israel. The gospel of Fellowship Foundation will be ineffective, because it's based upon the principles, marketing strategies, and philosophies of man.

In any secret society, they must take oaths of secrecy and swear to keep their activities secret, but Leviticus 4:4-5 says, "Or if a soul swear pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these. And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing." Jesus said, "Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths." (Matthew 5:33). Jesus continues, "But I say to you, do not swear at all; neither by heaven, for it is God's throne; nor by earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. But let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one." (Matt. 5:34-37 NKJV). Jesus was saying that we don't have the authority to swear by anything, we are to be honest, decisive, and forthright in everything. Secrecy can appear to be dishonesty, and we are to "abstain from all appearance of evil." (1 Thess. 5:22)

What does God say about conspiracies and secrets?

Isaiah 8:12-13 states, "Do not say, 'A conspiracy,' concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. ¹³ The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread."

What an awesome promise that we have in those two verses. Even though man may devise all these plans against us, we do not need to fear them. It is the One whom can destroy not only our bodies, but our bodies and our souls that we should fear (Matthew 10:28). Man cannot devise any plan that God does not already know about. God is omniscient; He sees and holds the future in His hands. What can man do to Him and those who are in Him? There are no secrets that can be hidden from God. That belief is a delusion of mankind that thinks, God does not see their hearts. Isaiah 28:15 states, "Because you have said, 'We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol [hell] we are in agreement. When the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood we have hidden ourselves.' But God says, As often as it [the scourge] goes out it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass over; and by day and by night, it will be a terror to understand the report." (Isaiah 28:29).

How do we know that God didn't allow these ideas to be planted in their minds to fulfill His purposes? The Bible states, "For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, 'Even for this same purpose I have raised you up, that I might show My power in you, and that My name might be declared in all the earth.' ¹⁸ Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens... ²⁰ But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, 'Why have you made me like this?' ²¹ Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?" (Romans 9:17,18,20,21 NKJV). God is the one who sets up rulers, not man. God is the one who allows kingdoms to rise and fall, not armies of men, nor even the power of money. Also, Biblical prophecy is full of precise and even "evil" acts of men. God knew this evil was coming and out of love for us, He warned us, through His word. He gave us signs to look for, and when those things start happening (which they have been at a very rapid rate), then LOOK UP!!

God will bring these so-called conspirators down. Those who sit on their lofty perches, oppressing the poor and God's people, will be destroyed. Obadiah 3-4 '"The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; You who say in your heart 'Who will bring me down to the ground?' Though you exalt yourself as high as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down," says the Lord."' God also promises Israel, "'Do not fear, O Jacob My servant,' says the Lord, 'For I am with you; for I will make a complete end of all the nations to which I have driven you, but I will not make a complete end of you. I will rightly correct you, for I will not leave you wholly unpunished.'" That "complete end of all nations" includes America because we have Israelis living here, and we have been turning on them in favor of their enemies. In 1 Corinthians 3:19-21 it states, "For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. For it is written, 'He catches the wise in their own craftiness'; and again, 'The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.' Therefore let no one glory in men..."

Conclusion

Though there may be evidences of conspiracies by men, the one assurance that we have is that God knows about them, and He is in control. That is not to say that we cannot stand against the unrighteousness of these plots, or stand up for our freedoms, but know this, that even if we may not prevail, God will prevail. It is our duty and privilege to serve the Lord (Luke 17:7-10) and keep His commandments whether we are spared or killed by this world. We are to live as vessels of honor pleasing to the Lord and glorifying His name no matter what the circumstance or what happens to us. He's God, we're not.

We can take comfort and truly believe what God says in His word. He declares, "Woe to those who seek deep to hide their counsel far from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, They say 'Who sees us?' and 'Who knows us?' Surely, you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; for shall the thing made say of him who made it, 'He did not make me'? or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, 'He has no understanding'?" (Isaiah 29:15-16). The world has it backwards, their plans and schemes will be made known and be brought down.

Paul and Peter both admonish us to obey the laws of the land and the rulers of the land. (Romans 13:1-4; 1 Peter 2:13-17). As long as the laws do not contradict God's commandments, then we are to be in submission to them because that is the will of the Lord. So no matter if we are in a free country or in a dictatorship, we are responsible to obey the laws that line up with God's word. If they forbid us to worship God, read His word, and preach His word, then there are plenty of Scriptural instances where God blesses that kind of "defiance." But we can't fix every problem nor even uncover every secret devised by wicked men. The only omnipresent one is God Almighty. Not even the devil can be more than one place at a time; he doesn't have that power. So, instead of fearing the changes that have and will come, rejoice in the Lord and be about the business of the Father - being witnesses to every nation and creature. But also, "always be ready" and "look up for your redemption draweth nigh."
